Tour overview
Mount Monduli (2,660m), about 60km northwest of Arusha, is an unknown protected area where mainly elephants and buffalos can be found. As there is also hunting here, the animals are shy, so you need a bit of luck. This area has a great scenic appeal. We will hike through the jungle, enjoy an incomparable view on the ridge, rest under the sacred trees of the Maasai which we call “energy trees,” and experience a decelerated day of silence. Our guide is armed according to regulations and is very friendly. A bit of fitness is required (approx. 3h ascent), but we will take breaks every now and then. As always, we will get food before, depending on our mood. We will walk on easy paths. Hiking boots are helpful but not necessary.
